Mariluz is a superb private guide and a delightful person. She worked with us to plan a 2 day private tour of Madrid that not only included all of the "must-see" sights in Madrid but also added some hidden treasures that first time visitors to Madrid would overlook. Jackie is an A+ tour guide Together with my mother, I did the private walking tour of the Royal Palace and Old Town with Jackie in early March 2023. Jackie was fantastic! He has incredible knowledge about the area and the history of Spain, and his friendliness and professionalism are absolutely top-notch. It quickly adapted to accommodate the slower walking pace my mom desired... It was evident that Jackie is an expert on this tour, and it was a pleasure to see how many locals and staff at the Royal Palace recognized her. Honestly, I wasn't particularly excited about the tour itself, but Jackie made it an interesting and delightfully memorable experience. I absolutely recommend Jackie to any Spanish or English speaker who would like to spend a morning and afternoon walking around and learning from a very nice and knowledgeable local expert.

Every moment with Mariluz was informative and interesting. She maintained her animated pace for over 4 hours on our walking tour through Madrid, and her knowledge of the art at Prado was impressive. Toledo full day tour Mariluz was wonderful. Excellent knowledge. Very good (great) communication skills. Adjusted tour to our interests. Excellent vegetarian restaurant! We appreciated her understanding of individual interests from my 12-year-old granddaughter to my husband who was easy to tire after a stroke 6 months ago. Driver and transportation were wonderful.

Jackie was an excellent tour guide very informative. We were able to see all the highlights of Madrid in four hours. She was flexible and when she found out that we had seen some of the things she planned to show us, she was able to rearrange the itinerary and get us to the royal palace at the last minute without waiting in line and escaping the heatwave. His knowledge of the history and facts of the palace were astounding. I would definitely recommend this tour and this guide.

Mariluz is a wonderful guide! She is very professional and pleasant. We took three tours with her during two days in Madrid: Royal Palace and Old Madrid, the Thyssen-B Art Museum, and the Prado Art Museum and Retiro Park. She walks and talks at a comfortable pace; we never felt rushed or bored. Her knowledge of art and history is extensive. She kindly customized our tour of the Prado to accommodate a rather long list of paintings we wanted to see. This was a very enjoyable learning experience.

This was a great way to see Madrid. Our tour guide, Mariluz, was excellent. She was very knowledgeable and knew a lot of history, answering all our questions as well. The tour begins with a 2-hour driving tour, with stops along the way for photos. There is an independent driver so that the tour guide can focus on the tour itself. Then, there is a 2-hour walking tour that starts in the city center. We did this tour on our first day in Madrid and thought I would use it to book any site/museum we wanted to enter and see. Overall, this was a good plan, but a note is that the Royal Palace is booked well in advance. We were able to see the outside during the tour, but if you're interested in getting in, I recommend booking well in advance.

Jackie was a fantastic guide to Toledo, meeting us at the hotel and getting us to the train station which was close to the Prado. Our fast train to Toledo was less than 30 minutes. Loved the tour of the town, churches and cathedrals. She is very knowledgeable about the history of Toledo. She recommended a couple of restaurants for lunch and left us on our own for about 11/2 hours to eat and shop. Afterwards she went with us to a bookstore to purchase a book for my Spanish fluent grandson.

We travel a lot and exclusively use Tours by Locals. Mariluz was exceptional, the best guide we've had to date. She guided 4 of us on two half-day and one full-day tours of Madrid and Segovia. Unsurprisingly, she is very knowledgeable, but what sets her apart is her personality and style. He is friendly, personable and patient, "able to analyze" the interests of his clients to tailor their visits and make them as interesting as possible. We enthusiastically recommend it and if you are on tour in and around Madrid, don't hesitate!

Jackie took us through the Madrid of the Austrias and the Madrid of the Bourbons, telling us about the important sites along the way and making sure we had many photo opportunities. She gave us an in-depth insight into Madrid and took us to some places we had never heard of, not just the ones we would have encountered anyway. He also gave us some suggestions on what to do after the tour. I'd be happy to have Jackie as a guide again.

A delightful, customized tour of the Prado and the city. After meeting me, Mariluz had us stroll through the central part of the city taking in the history and architecture on the way to the Prado, then back to the hotel down the newer modern shopping avenue. The part in the middle- the Prado- was wonderful. Mariluz guided me through the large collections to key pieces (and some lesser known works), providing a lot of context and history along the way. Definitely recommend this!

I knew we could not go to Madrid without going to the Prado museum, and Mariluz was the perfect guide for us. She shared her knowledge and love of her city with us as she walked us from our hotel to Retiro park, and was so personable, easy to talk to, and completely engaging. "This was a fantastic tour to a great city in Spain. Mariluz was spot on time to pick us up and was a very professional, friendly, informational and all around great guide for our tour to Segovia. She had pre-booked lunch at a local for the 10 of us as we visited Segovia on Good Friday and she knew we would have problems finding somewhere to accommodate all of us for a meal. “When you tour the Prado and view Guernica with Mariluz you are able to tap into her deep knowledge of art history- the artists and paintings literally come alive. We stood in front of Las Meninas and she pulled out a pocket mirror so we could appreciate the painting's 3-D. My mother got a little tired so we rested between museums at a cafe and Mariluz offered wonderful suggestions for dinner, parks and other museums. Mariluz is very gracious and very knowledgeable-I would book her again in a heartbeat”.
